PRESS RELEASE: pawgen™, the Canine Longevity Company Inspired by Viral Rescue Dog Choo Choo, Officially Launches With K9-REPAIR™
After Choo Choo's story reached millions online, founder Michael Morelli launches a company focused on transparency and the emerging science of canine longevity
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE · Oct. 22, 2026
Vista, CA (Oct. 22, 2026) – pawgen™, a canine longevity company founded by health and performance entrepreneur Michael Morelli, officially launches today with its first product, K9-REPAIR. The dual-peptide formula combines BPC-157 and TB-500 and is available in injectable and salmon-flavored oral-drop formats.
The company was inspired by Choo Choo, the 14 year-old rescue dog Morelli adopted at age nine after he was abandoned. Morelli first shared Choo Choo's story on July 23, 2026. It quickly went viral and helped spark an online conversation about senior dog health that generated an estimated 30 million impressions within days. Morelli's posts about Choo Choo and Jerzie, the dog of pawgen co-founder Paul Clotar, have since drawn more than 5 million views across X and Instagram.
"Choo Choo is family. When I saw him start to slow down, I wasn't ready to accept that there was nothing more I could do," said Morelli, a best-selling author with more than 14 years in health and wellness. "I'd spent years focused on human health and longevity, and I started asking why we weren't bringing that same curiosity to our dogs. pawgen grew out of that question."
As more pet owners look to bring their own longevity practices to their aging dogs, pawgen was created to offer a tested, transparent option and to encourage owners to work with a veterinarian. Choo Choo's care is overseen by two veterinarians and includes regular diagnostics.
Clotar brings his own story to the company. Jerzie faced seizures and vestibular disease at 15 and turned 16 this year.
"When Jerzie got sick, I realized how few options most owners of aging dogs feel they have," said Clotar. "We want to change that conversation."
BPC-157 and TB-500 are peptides that have been studied in animal and laboratory research on tissue repair and recovery. K9-REPAIR is manufactured in Vista, and every batch undergoes third-party testing. pawgen recommends that pet owners consult a licensed veterinarian before use. Pricing starts at $80 with a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. K9-REPAIR is sold for research purposes only, is not FDA approved and has not undergone controlled canine clinical trials.
pawgen plans to expand beyond K9-REPAIR with additional products and testing for the growing field of canine longevity.
Photos, video and founder bios are available in the pawgen press drive. For more information, visit pawgen.com or follow @pawgen_ on Instagram.
